One of the challenges associated with audience based media buying is knowing how much of a certain audience is available, and where that audience can be found. This makes scaling a campaign, dependant upon targeting, which can be difficult. But not anymore with the Availability Survey.
With the Audience Availability Survey, we can discover the scale of our audience directly in the Marketplace. Matched and Available impressions are overlaid on products, exposing the most scalable inventory.
To create a report, you can follow the steps below:
First, you will need to run a new survey from the new Availability Survey. You will see the option available on the top left side of the screen. Click New Survey to start generating the availability report.
Every media organisation has 2000 credits to spend. Once consumed, please contact the Client Services team (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more. Credits are consumed on the basis of how many products are successfully returned per survey.

Give your report a name, set the date range to query availability against, availability type and minimum avails.
“Available impressions”: will return all available impressions with no frequency cap.
“Available uniques”: will return all available impressions with a frequency cap of 1 impression per lifetime for each web visitor.
Apply your audience targeting. Create your set of audience targets from either Bluekai or Lotame. You may also leave the targeting picker blank.
That's it! The next step is to run your survey. All products integrated with DFP, across the entire marketplace, will be individually queried for your audience. So be patient… it will take some time (44 minutes to be exact).
Note: Audience reports are built sequentially due to API query limitations. If you are 3rd in line you will need to wait 2 hours 12 minutes for example.
Whilst you wait for your report to generate the survey's filter pill will show progress. Once complete you will understand the scale of your audience via the Total matched and Total available impressions. Matched and Available impressions are overlaid on each individual marketplace product.
All your team members will be able to access the available survey you have generated if they are set up as users under your Adslot Media account.
Adding to the Planner or Media Schedule
Products added will automatically inherit your targeting criteria. The Survey report date range is not inherited.
