The campaign's Budget Planner utilises your campaign information to filter and recommend a selection of premium Publishers along with their available inventory. This streamlines the process of discovering and purchasing media for your campaign.
The Budget Planner appears inside all campaigns. Select Plan and the Budget Planner should be the first tab underneath.
Once selected, the page will load existing Publishers in your Draft Plan and also displays recommended Publishers for your campaign.
Below are the summary functions of the Budget Planner
- List the names of the Publishers already in the Draft Plan / Media Schedule or suggested Publishers.
- Names of placements within the Draft Plan / Media Schedule or you can select a placement from suggested Publishers.
- The status of the placement currently in the campaign - Draft Saved, Pending, Live etc.
- Shows Targeting that was applied at the campaign level, can be edited for each Publisher once a product has been selected.
- Impressions Goals are calculated automatically using the input Budget and can also be overridden by manual entry. The total of the estimated Impressions can also be seen in the above summary titles, this amount is rounded to the nearest whole number.
- eCPM (effective cost per mile) estimates a publisher's earnings, it is calculated by dividing total earnings by total impressions and multiplying by1000.
- By default, the budget applied to the publisher/product will be used in the Budget / Cost column. If no budget has been entered at the campaign level, a budget can be applied in the cell.
- Options to send a brief to the Publisher or Book the item to the Media Schedule.
- Browse the marketplace for more publishers if a specific publisher isn't displayed in this list.
How to use the Budget Planner
- Select a Recommended Publishers: Load the Budget Planner and select a Publisher by hovering over the Publisher's name and pressing the + symbol as highlighed below. Once the Publisher has been selected, there is an option to send a brief via the Status column, while also having the option to edit the Budget / Cost column.
- Select a Product: If this option is selected, a new window will appear where you can select from a list of Publishers in the Marketplace. Select a Publisher, then you will be shown a list of all of the inventories under that Publisher. To select an inventory, tick the check box to the left. When the inventory is selected you are able to edit the Goals and Budget/Cost, however you can not change the Rate.
TIP: As products are selected, the budget and impressions goals are updated & action buttons become enabled.
- Targeting can be edited per Publisher by clicking on the Targeting column.
- Auto-calculated budget and impressions cells can be overridden by clicking on each cell
Once selections are completed, select either Save to Draft Plan, Brief or Book to continue.
Save to Draft Plan – Saves the selected products to the Draft Plan, where users can continue to plan their campaign further
Brief – Brief the selected Publisher with all campaign and budget details, allowing publishers to respond with products they believe suit the campaign.
Book – Newly renamed from Buy. Directs users to buy selected products, moving them to the Media Schedule and awaiting publisher's approval.
